Day Three

So far we've explored a web-quest and started to create a brochure for a fictional ranch, but today we are going to dive deeper into our creativity. Today we are going to compose a very short story that takes place in a setting similar to "Of Mice and Men." The only requirements are the following:

• The story must take place on a ranch in the 1930s
• The story must be at least 1 half-spaced, typed page in 12 point font
• Grammar and mechanics must be correct 

I encourage you to use a graphic organizer... like this one.  You can also utilize our five paragraph story concept map.

Don't forget the 5 steps of writing:

1. Pre-Write/Brainstorm
2. Draft
3. Revise
4. Proofread
5. Final Copy

Also, remember the plot elements that we've discussed. Take a look at the "plot mountain" that we have studied. Does your story include everything on the plot mountain?

Your final draft will be graded on the rubric provided below.  Your story is due this Friday with your presentation and brochure.
